What Happens in Your Body? 🔬

Period pain, or dysmenorrhea, is caused by prostaglandins—chemicals released by cells in the uterine lining. These chemicals trigger uterine contractions and constrict blood vessels, which can lead to sharp, debilitating pain.

Research also shows that inflammation markers may play a role in the severity of menstrual cramps. Acute inflammation can increase pain intensity, making PMS and period cramps more difficult to manage.
