Tonsil stones are small calcified deposits that develop in the folds of the tonsils, called tonsil crypts. The tonsils are part of your immune system and help trap bacteria and particles that enter your mouth or nose.
Over time, these trapped materials may accumulate and harden, forming tiny stones.
These stones can be:

White or yellow in color

Soft or slightly hard

Tiny like a grain of rice or occasionally larger
