Health authorities have issued a recall of several batches of the children’s medicine Doliprane (paracetamol) after discovering a defect in the dosing pipettes included in the bottles. Parents are being urged to check their medication and return affected products to a pharmacy.
The alert was issued by the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM), which supervises drug safety in France. The recall concerns Doliprane 2.4% oral suspension for infants and young children.
What Is the Problem With the Pipettes?
The problem does not affect the medicine itself, but the measuring pipette used to give the correct dose.
According to the ANSM:
-
The graduation marks on some pipettes may fade after rinsing with warm or hot water.
-
If the marks disappear, it becomes difficult to measure the correct dose.
-
This could lead to incorrect dosing, including a potential paracetamol overdose in children.
Too much paracetamol can damage the liver, especially in infants and young children if repeated overdoses occur.
Which Doliprane Batches Are Affected?
The recall involves 27 batches of Doliprane 2.4% oral suspension distributed in pharmacies between November 2025 and February 2026.
