It has become less of a recipe and more of a tradition in my family now. Something expected. Something requested. Something that defines the start of every gathering.
Sometimes I think about how strange it is that something so simple can have that kind of impact. Three ingredients, a baking tray, and twenty minutes of time—and suddenly you’re “the person who brings the good appetizer.”
So now, whenever I prepare it, I do it with a kind of quiet acceptance. I know what’s coming. The empty tray. The compliments. The demands for next time.
And honestly, I wouldn’t change it.
Because there’s something special about food that brings people together so quickly, so effortlessly, and so completely.
