You don’t have to give exact numbers. A simple response like “I found a good deal” or “It was worth it for me” keeps things polite while protecting your privacy.
2. “Are you sure that will work?” 🤔
Constructive advice is helpful, but envy can sometimes disguise itself as constant doubt. When someone repeatedly questions your plans, they may be projecting their own insecurities.
This type of question can slowly undermine confidence if you let it.
How to respond:
Stay calm and confident. A simple answer such as “I’ve thought it through and I’m excited to try it” keeps the conversation positive without inviting criticism.
3. “Who helped you achieve that?” 👥
Sometimes success makes others curious about the process behind it. But when this question is asked with envy, it may imply that your achievement couldn’t have happened without outside help.
In other words, it subtly minimizes your effort.
How to respond:
Acknowledge support if you had it, but also recognize your work:
“I had great support, but I worked really hard for it too.”
