And it hadn’t come out yet.
The traffic finally began to move—slowly at first, then faster as space opened up. Cars pulled away, one after another, no longer interested in the miracle they had just witnessed.
Because it wasn’t a miracle.
It was a warning.
And long after the last car disappeared down the road, the forest remained exactly the same.
Silent.
Still.
Waiting.
