Certain sleep disorders
In many cases, drooling simply indicates that the body has entered a deep and restorative stage of sleep.
Sleeping Position Can Play a Big Role
One of the most common reasons for drooling is sleeping position.
Side Sleeping
People who sleep on their side are more likely to drool because gravity allows saliva to move toward the pillow rather than being swallowed.
Interestingly, side sleeping is often recommended for improving breathing and reducing snoring.
Stomach Sleeping
Sleeping on the stomach can also increase the chances of drooling because the face is turned sideways against the pillow.
