Floating is all about density. Density is the ratio of mass to volume. In simple terms:

Fresh eggs are denser than water, so they sink.

As eggs age, moisture inside evaporates and air enters, reducing density.

When the eggβs density becomes less than that of water, it floats.
This is the same principle that allows boats to float or objects to sink, depending on their density relative to water.
